Tharstern Desktop is a print MIS that is scalable and customizable and is purchased as a monthly subscription (SaaS).
There are two plans, Standard or Premium, and options to add even more features that will help solve your challenges and improve efficiency at every stage of the workflow.

For either edition of Tharstern Desktop, a Pre-Boarding phase is needed, this is a one-time fee purchased at the start of your implementation project.
The pre-boarding phase will cover:
- Technical Installation to your Hardware and/or 3 months of hosting in the Tharstern Microsoft Azure environment
(this will enable an immediate start to the project)
- Internal handover time from our sales team to the project team
- Initial Project Plan
- 10 hours of Professional Services to aid the set-up and data-gathering to begin the project
- 10 hours of report writing service time for creating customized Crystal documents/reports

Our Sheet Optimization tool seamlessly integrates Tharstern’s Estimating engine with the award-winning IMP imposition tool from Insoft Automation.
Our Job Ganging tool helps you identify and manage jobs suitable for combined production. Ganged impositions can be done manually within Tharstern Desktop or automated via our integration with the award-winning IMP imposition tool from Insoft Automation.
Our Mobile Inventory tool allows the use of a smartphone or scanner device to manage warehouse operations on the move e.g. receiving and moving products, inventory stock takes, and picking lists. Assign tasks to warehouse operatives from within the MIS and receive feedback once complete. (Available on the Premium Plan)
Shop Floor Data Capture
Our Shop Floor Data Capture tool allows you to log the progress of a job in real-time using touchscreens, a keyboard and mouse, or a mobile device. Barcodes can also be generated for individual jobs and operations and then scanned by barcode readers.
Create multiple estimates in an instant by importing CSV files containing complex multi-location print campaigns directly into your MIS.
Cost Rate Manager
Our Cost Rate Manager tool helps you identify all costs associated with the production of each job, and auto-calculates a total hourly rate for each of your chargeable assets.

**The integration with QuickBooks is only available for the US version and is currently unavailable for the UK version.
Implementation of Tharstern Desktop
A pre-boarding phase is needed for either subscription plan. This needs to be purchased in order to start your implementation project. The pre-boarding phase will cover the following aspects:
- Technical installation to your hardware and/or 3 months of hosting in the Tharstern Microsoft Azure environment (this will enable an immediate start to the project).
- Internal handover time from our sales team to the project team.
- Initial Project Plan.
- 10 hours of Professional Services to aid the set-up and data-gathering to begin the project.
- 10 hours of report writing service time for creating customized documents and reports.
Tharstern has a team of dedicated print professionals that have implemented many systems over the years and can advise you on your system configuration and setup, train your staff on the features of the system and offer general advice on the implementation. There is also the opportunity to draw on the expertise of our software developers and our report-writing service if your project requires a level of customization.
All systems have a minimum of 5 users but you can add as many as you need. If you think you will need more than 50 licenses an Enterprise Plan may be more cost-effective for you. Please get in touch to create a package to suit your individual business needs.
The install / pre-board fee is the same regardless of which plan you choose. You will only pay this once. If you wish to upgrade your plan at a later date you will not have to pay an installation fee again, you will just pay the difference on your monthly subscription.
You can not mix and match standard and premium licences.
Yes, you can choose to downgrade but there is a minimum 3-month notice period to reduce licensing (for both users and features).
