This middleware is an excellent tool to bridge gaps between disparate workflows (e.g. an email workflow and an MIS workflow) and it significantly reduces the need for human intervention. It's primarily used for preflighting and PDF approvals but we’ve also seen it used to enhance works instructions, deliver proof of delivery to the MIS and perform EPM analysis.
The tool can also amend job specs in the Tharstern database to reflect changes made during the preflighting and approval processes.
Monitors multiple channels for incoming jobs e.g. directories, email server and your FTP
Can update milestones and create events within Tharstern
Switch can change the job specification within the Tharstern database to ensure that the correct preflight process is selected e.g. page geometry or material
Enrolls jobs into automated workflows based on predefined criteria e.g. ‘if the artwork for a 2PP job is 3 times the width of the original 6PP file, then change job to spread’
