Irish Point of Sale specialist, The Printed Image, has ordered a 25 user Tharstern Management Information System with local distributor Compu-Data Limited. The TharsternSQL suite will replace their current MIS with Estimating; Job Costing; Purchase Order Processing; Stock Control and Production Scheduling modules in addition to the Shop Floor Data Capture option.

The order has been the latest investment since relocating to their new custom-built 50,000sq feet premises in May this year, which is shared with sister company Marksell. Between the two companies they boast a workforce of over 100 and are currently the only printers in Ireland to offer Digital, Litho and Screen printing all under one roof.

The decision to replace their MIS with Tharstern came about following a review that begun earlier this year. Ken Lawless, Operations Director, of The Printed Image advised. “We systematically appraised several packages but each time Tharstern stood out with its easy to use approach, innovative style and simplistic provision of detailed information.”

Ken went on to say. “The addition of Intranet Data Capture will provide us with even more detail regarding the production and progress of Jobs. Using several workstations on the shop floor we will be able to almost effortlessly collate data which can be used to accurately cost Jobs.”

The Printed Image has now commenced training and plan to go live by October 05.
